The organisations promoting the Platform in Defence of Cala en Busquets wish to express our gratitude for the support received in recent weeks, both from individuals and from other organisations that have encouraged us to raise our voices publicly against the dry marina project.
We also greatly value the broad support found within Ciutadella Town Council (the institution that owns part of the land where the project was to be carried out), which has clearly expressed its opposition to the proposed transformation of the cove. In this regard, our recognition goes to the representatives of PSOE, PSM-Més, Ciutadella Endavant and PP, for their vote and for joining the manifesto of the citizens’ organisations.
We also celebrate the positions that the different political groups have shown in the Parliament, which have resulted in the commitment of the Balearic Government not to move forward with the initiative, reflecting the vote taken by the Town Council
Organised civil society can celebrate today. The sum of associations that have worked to share criteria and build a consensus-based opinion has proven to be a good tool for participation and debate. Many thanks to everyone who has dedicated time and effort to make it possible.
