First of all, I would like to make a special mention in memory of our island coordinator, Tófol Mascaró, who died suddenly and without any warning. On Sunday 21 January we will have the first excursion of 2024. It will be to the farm of Binissaida des Barrancons, which has a very old kitchen garden situated in a ravine in the municipality of Es Castell. This farm is part of the Land Stewardship Scheme.

At 61, Tòfol Mascaró has been attached to GOB for many years. At the end of the eighties, during a time that was very complicated for ecology and when GOB was a very much smaller entity than now, he became President and led the group in campaigns to defend the island’s countryside and territorial rights.
