On the morning of Sunday, September 28th, GOB Menorca’s Custòdia Agrària programm is organizing a very special excursion in which the joy of music, the appreciation of the landscape and the pleasure of tasting agroecological products will come together in an incomparable experience. OCIM, the Illa de Menorca Chamber Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Francesc Prat, will offer a concert bringing one of the jewels of musical classicism to the traditional era at Santa Cecília farm, located in Ferreries.
At Santa Cecília, OCIM will perform one of the earliest and most representative orchestral works by Joseph Haydn, Morning, which together with Noon and Evening forms a trilogy. The event is part of a musical weekend in which the Orchestra will perform the three parts of The Times of Day in unique settings across the island.
The activity is part of the OCIM’s 2025 season, characterized by the relationship between music and nature and the connection with local roots.
The meeting point will be in Ferreries, at 9:30 am, to start a 4 km walk along rural paths leading to Santa Cecília. The concert will take place on the traditional threshing floor, and afterwards there will be a tasting of products from the estate, produced with care for health, nature and proximity. Return will be by bus, provided by the organization and included in the ticket price.
Places are limited, so it is advisable to book well in advance. Tickets will soon be available through the OCIM website. Price: €30 (€24 for Friends of the OCIM).
Santa Cecília farm is committed to sustainable and self-sufficient agriculture. With milk from its native red cows, they produce cheese and ice cream. They also produce sobrassada and carnixua from local pork. They grow vegetables, cereals and legumes adapted to the island and practice soil regeneration techniques such as directed grazing.
