Today, from 9 a.m., tickets are available for the Chamber Orchestra of Menorca’s (OCIM) concert next Sunday, September 28, at the old threshing floor of Santa Cecília, in Ferreries.
There are only 80 seats available, and they must be purchased through the OCIM website. Tickets are priced at €30. The concert will be preceded by a guided walk from the meeting point in Ferreries to Santa Cecília. The OCIM will perform The Morning Symphony by Joseph Haydn, conducted by Francesc Prat. The activity is part of a series of proposals through which the Orchestra highlights the relationship between music and nature and the connection with roots.
The walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. The route, about 4 km and lasting between 60 and 90 minutes, will take participants to the threshing floor of Santa Cecília. After the concert, there will be a tasting of agroecological products produced on the farm.
Return to the meeting point will be by bus, included in the ticket price.
Santa Cecília is committed to sustainable and self-sufficient agriculture. With the milk of its native red cows they make cheese and ice cream. They also produce sobrassada and carnixua from local pigs. They sow vegetables, cereals and legumes of varieties adapted to the island and practice soil regeneration techniques such as directed grazing.
