What kind of limitations have allowed Menorca to remain a distinct island in contrast to other nearby areas where much of the territory has been overtaken by development? Are these limits a burden for the economy, or are they an asset?

For a few weeks now, car horns have been heard again in the streets of the city. A sign that the holidaymakers have arrived. Curiously, they seem more impatient than the locals, who are probably working. This characteristic —the stress that some visitors bring with them— invites to some reflection.

The combination of interests drives many of the essential processes that make life on the planet possible. Humans, inclined to create our own world, often shape social realities that verge on the surreal.
This spring has brought enough rain for short-cycle plants. That is why the countryside is full of flowers — a grand stage to observe the actors of life in motion. If we have a closer look at a blooming field (at one that has not been sprayed), we will find wild and domestic bees, caterpillars and butterflies, spiders and flies… all of them pursuing their particular interest in interacting with the flowers.

Ciutadella is one of the municipalities where underground water resources are in the worst state, to the point that the new General Plan is currently halted because it cannot guarantee supply for the projected population.
Two years ago, the Sustainable Water Management Plan for the municipality was drafted. GOB submitted comments because there were very concerning situations. Given the chronic nature of these issues for decades, the intervention by the Civil Guard and the judicial complaint, potentially qualifying as an environmental crime due to water management, were considered good news.
Now, it has been announced that the Government is approving the Water Management Plan, but no one has responded to the comments. Therefore, we recall them here so they do not remain in a drawer:
