GOB is encouraging people to write to the President of the Balearic Government asking her to reconsider recently approved regulation that allows keeping large hotels along the coast and increasing their size. These islands need to evolve a new tourist model and proceed with economic diversification. Large hotels along the coast are the expression of how tourism was perceived during the middle of the last century, but already these huge volumes require reconstruction.

Therefore, now is the time to take advantage of these buildings becoming obsolete to redefine their size, reconsider what they offer and substantially improve their environmental sustainability. If these hotels are reformed as they are, they condemn us to 50 more years of mass and all inclusive tourism.
