Every spring, a group of passionate volunteers interested in agriculture and biodiversity heads out into the Menorcan countryside to monitor bioindicators on farms participating in the Custòdia Agrària (Agri-environmental Stewardship) program.

The goal? To show how sustainable farming practices benefit biodiversity—while enjoying a unique experience in nature.

From the Environmental Education team at GOB Menorca, we continue to prepare activities that combine the experience gained over the years with exciting new features you won’t want to miss. GOB Menorca launches a nature group for kids and teens

With the aim of promoting environmental learning through leisure and inspiring a commitment to nature among younger generations, GOB Menorca is launching a nature group for children and teens aged 6 to 15. This initiative will combine educational and fun activities in the outdoors through a monthly excursion.

Although we live in a Biosphere Reserve, many of our children lead predominantly urban lives and are increasingly disconnected from meaningful, sensory, and emotional experiences in nature. At GOB Menorca, we want to offer families an alternative to this reality, similar to our summer camps, but now available during the school year.

Specially designed for Menorca’s schools, this program encourages meaningful learning through direct experiences with nature. With a diverse range of activities, it provides teachers and students with tools to foster and develop critical and committed environmental awareness.

September 24th: Family Workshop on the Dangers of Invasive Species at the Wildlife Recovery Center

This Tuesday, September 24th, at 5:30 PM, the Menorca Wildlife Recovery Center will host a family workshop aimed at raising awareness about the dangers that invasive species pose to native wildlife. This activity, marking the final event in the CRFS summer program, will focus on the stories of some exotic animals currently residing at the Center’s hospital, including iguanas and American and African turtles. Through educational games, participants will learn how these animals arrived in Menorca and the risks they pose to local ecosystems.
