This Tuesday, September 17th, at 5:30 PM, the Menorca Wildlife Recovery Center will host a new session of its summer family workshops, offering an experience that promises to be both entertaining and educational. This interactive activity is designed to explore the colors of animals and understand their vital role in nature. Through games and hands-on activities, participants will discover how camouflage, signaling, and social communication rely on color patterns in the animal kingdom.

Colors in the animal realm serve several essential functions for survival. Some animals use colors to blend in with their surroundings and avoid predators, while others display bright colors to warn of their toxicity or to attract mates during breeding season. Additionally, colors play a crucial role in communication within species, often helping to establish social hierarchies.

These color adaptations are the result of natural selection, which favors traits that enhance survival and reproduction, allowing them to be passed on to future generations.

The Wildlife Recovery Center, located at the Pedreres de s’Hostal de Líthica, is open to the public until the end of summer, Monday to Saturday, from 5:30 PM until sunset. To visit, you must purchase an entrance ticket to Líthica, which costs €4 for residents and €7 for non-residents (free for children under 13), plus an additional €2 fee to visit the Center. Tickets can be bought online or at the box office.
