As part of the Recuperem el Port de Maó campaign, we are pleased to invite everyone to take part in the extensive programme of activities we have organised for this summer and autumn.

One of the first proposals is a boat trip around the bay, an opportunity to enjoy the harbour from the sea and discover it from a different perspective, guided by people who will show us values that you may not yet know.

Two routes have been scheduled on board the Yellow Catamarans, which will take place on Saturdays 11 and 18 July, from 9.00 am to 10.30 am.

Prior registration is required as places are limited. The activity costs €5 for participants over 10 years old, as a contribution to the maintenance of the campaign. Registration through this FORM is essential.

As some people may miss out on a place, we kindly ask you not to reserve more places than necessary. In case of cancellation, please email medimari@gobmenorca.com so that others can benefit.

Come and learn about the harbour area from within the sea, with the participation of people who know the port very well and care deeply about it. During the trip, three main issues that define the importance of the Port of Maó will be addressed:

• Natural values
• Heritage values
• Social boating

To explore each of these aspects in depth, we will count on the participation of expert contributors:

• Eva Marsinyach, head of the marine environment area at the Observatori Socioambiental de Menorca of the Institut Menorquí d’Estudis.
• Eva Llabrés, postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Física Interdisciplinària i Sistemes Complexos (UIB-CSIC).
• Toni Barber, president of the Associació d’Amarraments Públics Es Jonquet.
• Xavi Gomila, researcher of the maritime heritage of eastern Menorca.

These routes are part of a programme of activities designed to showcase, enjoy and share the multiple values of the Port of Maó — natural, heritage, social and cultural — and to spread them among the public. Some of the most emblematic spots in the harbour will host the different proposals of the programme, which includes, in addition to the boat routes, talks, glosa singing, excursions, workshops and other activities.

Recuperem el Port de Maó is a campaign promoted by the Associació d’Amarraments Públics Es Jonquet, Amics de la Mar – Port de Maó, Casetes de Vorera de Menorca and GOB Menorca.
