From Wednesday, 1 July, nature lovers and those interested in Menorca’s wildlife will have the opportunity to visit the Wildlife Recovery Centre. Until 12 September, the Centre will be open to the public from Monday to Saturday, from 6 p.m. until sunset.

The Centre is located within the Pedreres de s’Hostal de Lithica, on the Camí Vell de Ciutadella, km 1. This privileged location allows visitors to enjoy an impressive natural setting while discovering the crucial work carried out to recover local wildlife.

To access the Centre, visitors must first purchase an entrance ticket to Lithica. The price is €10 for adults and €7 for residents and seniors. Children under 15 years of age can enter free of charge. Once inside Lithica, visitors can access the Wildlife Recovery Centre for a supplement of €3, with free entry for children under 15. It is recommended to purchase Lithica tickets in advance through the website: lithica.es.

This is an exceptional opportunity to see emblematic animals of Menorca’s wildlife up close, learn about the problems they face and discover how the Centre works to address them. The visit is guided and includes a series of informative panels explaining the characteristics of the animals and the challenges they encounter.

The route includes several thematic areas:

  • Terrarium: where land tortoises can be seen.
  • Exotic tortoise ponds: an area dedicated to these species.
  • Recovery pond for calàpets: the place to learn about these amphibians.
  • Birds of prey areas: where visitors can observe falcons, kestrels, kites, buzzards, barn owls and other birds that have suffered severe injuries and cannot be released back into the wild. These birds remain at the Centre and contribute to important outreach and environmental awareness work.

This initiative allows visitors to enjoy an educational and exciting experience. It also helps raise public awareness about the importance of protecting and recovering Menorca’s wild fauna.

We look forward to welcoming you!
