This Thursday, February 13, at 7:30 PM, the Ateneu de Maó will host the second session of the conference series on resilience to climate change. This event will focus on forest resilience, with a particular emphasis on extensive livestock farming and wildfire risk.

During the session:

  • Enric Bisbe Company, a technician from the Gavarres Consortium, will share insights from 20 years of managing a goat herd at the public estate Can Vilallonga.
  • Miquel Truyol, an environmental technician from the Consell Insular de Menorca, will discuss the relationship between grazing and biodiversity in Menorca’s forests.
  • Jorge Casado, a technician from the Forest Management Service of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, will explore new opportunities for silvopasture on the island.

The roundtable discussion will be moderated by Sergi Marí, coordinator of GOB Menorca, and will include an open debate with audience participation.

The Climate Resilience Conference Series is a joint initiative by the Ateneu de Maó, Menorca Preservation, and GOB Menorca. Those unable to attend in person can follow the event live through the Ateneu de Maó’s digital channels.
