The Binibò Farm incorporated into the Land Stewardship Scheme

The network of those farms that are part of the Land Stewardship Scheme has increased with the incorporation of the Binibò Farm situated to the south of Ciutadella. With some 10 hectares of land, the principal production is from the orchard, a sector rather underrepresented in Menorca (the Island imports 90% of what is consumed from orchard and kitchen gardens). Saturday 6 February, kitchen gardens without pests and fertile soil biology

The second day of the Seminars on Agriculture and the Environment will take place on Saturday 6 February. There will be two talks on the ecological management of kitchen gardens for the control of pests and for understanding soil microbiology in order to maximise the period of plant production. Workshop on the influence of the moon on the plants

We have organized a new workshop at Es Viver (GOB’s garden centre) for Saturday 14 November morning, on the influence of the moon on plants. Historically, the phases of the moon have regulated the times for different works to be done in the countryside. Saturday 6 June, a workshop on how to deal with kitchen garden problems

This Saturday, 6 June at 10.00 am, we will be having a workshop at Es Viver the GOB garden centre. Now is the time to have the kitchen garden planted out for the summer, although there is still time if this has not yet been done. The workshop will consider anticipating and dealing with management problems such as how to prevent and deal with pests and diseases without chemicals. Make your own nettle purine

This Saturday, 7 March at 10 am, there will be a workshop at Es Viver of GOB to explain how to make a good nettle purine, a remedy for strengthening garden plants. Nettle plants, with waste from the kitchen and garden provide resources for making ecological compost for strengthening plant cultivation or preventing and curing diseases in them. Get the autumn kitchen garden ready

At the GOB nursery garden, Es Viver, are found ecological winter plants of various local varieties. Now is the time to plant lettuces, endives, chard, spinach, cabbages, cauliflower, broccoli, radishes…You will find something for planting yourselves.
