An update on the hotels association

Earlier in the past month, there was an interview in the local press with the president of the hotels association of Menorca. One of the notable proposals made by this spokesperson was to enlarge coastal urbanisations, starting by removing land protection. GOB has sent a written protest to the Minister of the Environment of the Balearic Government concerning the way in which work is being carried out to ensure the circulation of water along the riverbeds of Menorca. Proposal for eight industrial sized buildings for a winery in the countryside

The Torralba farm, to the south of Ciutadella, was one of the first farms for agritourism but it has taken all the existing buildings for tourism and not left any for agricultural use. A vineyard has been planted. Now a project has been put forward for wine cellars erecting eight new industrial sized buildings. The case raises the question whether to put limits on new agricultural buildings or whether to depend only on an external report contracted by the promoters.
