Another falcon with shotgun wounds taken into the Wild Life Hospital

GOB has made a formal complaint to SEPRONA (Guardia Civil Police) and the Environmental Agencies of a new case of a falcon wounded by a shotgun and which has recently been taken into the Wild Life Recuperation Centre. It is the fourth one in the last few years brought in for this reason. This year it is the second case of a protected species coming as a result of impacted pellets. The draft of a law being drawn up by the Directorate General for Agriculture of the Balearic Government to give exemptions on conditions for buildings and agricultural facilities includes parts which appear unacceptable. At least 21 birds electrocuted recently in Menorca

4 red kites, 1 booted eagle, 4 kestrels, 2 barn owls, 5 ravens, 3 gulls and 2 unidentified birds make the list of birds electrocuted during 2015 and 2016 and which, at the moment, is on the record of the Council for the Environment of the Balearic Government, the ministry responsible for the protection of endangered species.
