This Saturday, 22 May, a new workshop has been organized at the GOB garden centre, Es Viver. It is on how to prevent and treat pests and diseases in the garden naturally. Preventing and maintaining the gardens free of these problems is perfectly possible without the need of using chemical products that reduce the quality of the crops and the environmental balance of the garden. Attention given to 1,150 wild animals in 2020

While 2020 was an atypical and critical year for humanity due to the health crisis of COVID 19, nature continued along its way. So much so that the Centre for Recuperation of Wild Animals of Menorca closed the year 2020 with the following figures of 1,154 animals 78 different species given attention, and that was 13 more than admitted during 2019. Thanks to constant public help, the involvement of various volunteers and the work done by the Centre’s personnel, this year the percentage of animal recovery and release has increased by about 38.8%. Menorca Region of European Gastronomy, discussion on 19 February

Menorca was appointed in January last year to be the Region of European Gastronomy for 2020. To talk on what it will be about and the importance such a project can have for Menorca, will be Luisa Coll Hellyer, who was appointed the coordinator for the project and Borja Matoses, food critic, consultant and ambassador for the Menorca Region of European Gastronomy. Series of debates in February and March

Last Friday was the start of a new series of round table talks dedicated to innovatory projects in Menorca. They are organized by the Ateneu in Mahon and GOB with the collaboration of the Menorca Preservation Fund. They can be followed by video conferencing.
