Saturday 6 June, a workshop on how to deal with kitchen garden problems

This Saturday, 6 June at 10.00 am, we will be having a workshop at Es Viver the GOB garden centre. Now is the time to have the kitchen garden planted out for the summer, although there is still time if this has not yet been done. The workshop will consider anticipating and dealing with management problems such as how to prevent and deal with pests and diseases without chemicals. Report on the Animal Hospital during 2019

The Wildlife Recuperation Centre of Menorca during 2019 cared for 1,337 animals from 65 different species. More than 1,300 people visited it, including students from 12 different educational centres, groups for family workshops, and general visitors. Home deliveries of farm products of the Land Stewardship Scheme

Because of the current situation with people confined to their houses and with limited permission to go out, house deliveries are a good resource. For this reason, the farms that are part of GOB’s Land Stewardship Scheme, have organized a delivery service. More schools signed up for the fight against plastic

At the beginning of March, the infants and primary school, Margalida Florit, signed up to the “Promise 2020 without Plastic” and so agreeing not to use any plastic tableware in the school that is for use only once.

The “Promise 2020 Without Plastic” is a campaign started by GOB in the middle of 2018 that aims to eliminate the maximum amount of expendable plastic and to use products made from more sustainable materials, throughout Menorca. Continue reading More schools signed up for the fight against plastic →
