Many people took part last Sunday in the carnival troupe organised within the framework of the Via Menorca campaign.
An initial group, dressed in suits and ties, carrying briefcases and documents, offered favourable reports and licences while €500 notes were exchanged. There was also a spectacular swimming pool (or perhaps it was a cistern?). A large roundabout related to Talayotic Menorca was also present, as well as several pages of the Island Territorial Plan.
Behind them was a sizeable group of hikers from GEDET (Group for the Detection of Territorial Blunders), who detected the most dangerous movements, pointed them out and neutralised them with an excellent choreography.
The float, decorated with logos, music and lights, paraded through the streets of Maó, filling them with celebration but also with reflections on the island model we want to defend. A joyful and reivindicative energy made possible thanks to the collaboration of several teams who took part in the preparatory work and in the parade itself. The troupe deserved the award for best choreography.
Territorial controversies are very present in Menorca and generate concern among many people who wish to collaborate in combating them.
Joining forces to achieve collective progress is very necessary. Many thanks to all the hands that come together when the situation requires it.
