JOB DESCRIPTION: Technician for the Marine Environment area.
- Analysis and improvement proposals for planning documents, execution projects, and legislative texts.
- Definition of planning and management proposals.
- Social engagement for conservation.
- Marine protected areas and species of interest.
JOB LOCATION: Menorca, based in Maó
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
CONTRACT DURATION: 2 years, with possibility of extension.
TRIAL PERIOD: 3 months.
WORKING HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
SCHEDULE: Flexible, with wide availability and adaptability required.
SALARY: €1,970 gross monthly.
ANNUAL PAYMENTS: 14.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Immediate start.
MERITS
EDUCATION. Higher education will be valued in the following disciplines, in this order:
- Marine Sciences
- Biology
- Environmental Sciences
- Geography
- Environmental Law
- Sociology
- Anthropology
LANGUAGES:
- Catalan, Spanish, and English, spoken and written.
- Knowledge of other languages will be valued.
COMPUTING:
- User-level computer skills.
- Knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
VEHICLE:

Driving license and own vehicle available. Mileage is reimbursed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. The following knowledge and skills will be valued:
- Knowledge of general environmental concepts and specific ones related to Menorca.
- Knowledge of public administration and how it functions.
- Knowledge of third sector organizations and how they work.
- Ability to write projects and reports.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Communication skills (project presentation, activity coordination, media…).
- Ability to identify environmental conservation opportunities.
- Knowledge of the marine environment, especially around Menorca.
- Knowledge of territorial planning in Menorca.
EXPERIENCE. The following experience will be valued:
- Experience in conservation and land protection projects.
- Programming and coordination of environmental activities.
- Experience working and collaborating with non-profit organizations in general, especially environmental ones. Recommendation letters from such entities will be valued.
- Social engagement and mobilization.
