This Sunday, June 8, the Menorca Wildlife Recovery Centre will open its doors to the public for a special open day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as part of the conservation and environmental awareness activities carried out throughout the year.
Guided tours and meeting the animals
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to explore the facilities, take part in guided tours, and see up close some of the animals housed at the centre—both permanent residents that cannot be returned to the wild, and others temporarily staying at the centre while recovering from injuries or other conditions.
The centre’s staff will share interesting facts about Menorca’s wildlife and explain how the centre operates. The facility is managed by the Balearic Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment through an agreement between COFIB (Consortium for the Recovery of Wildlife in the Balearic Islands) and GOB Menorca.
Access and schedule for the event
The activity is free and open to everyone. Access to the Centre will be through the LITHICA site, at Pedreres de s’Hostal, which will also be holding an open day from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note that the last entry time to the Lithica site to visit the Centre will be at 12:30 p.m.
We look forward to welcoming you—to discover, learn, and get involved in protecting our wildlife!
