The Wildlife Recovery Centre of Menorca, managed by the Consortium for Wildlife of the Balearic Islands (COFIB) in collaboration with GOB Menorca, is offering a job opportunity for a technician passionate about wildlife conservation.
Job details
- Position: Technician
- Workload: Part-time (20 hours per week)
- Salary: €984.95 gross/month (€11,819.4 gross/year)
- Location: Ciutadella de Menorca
- Schedule: Flexible, including availability from Monday to Sunday, with legally mandated rest periods.
- Start date: Immediate
Requirements
- Education: Vocational Training in areas such as Forestry and Natural Environment Management, Environmental Education and Monitoring, Veterinary Assistance, Agricultural Production, or related fields.
- Languages: Good command of Catalan (spoken and written), as it is the working language.
- Others: Driving license (B) and own vehicle, residence in or near Ciutadella.
Additional skills valued
- Experience in wildlife recovery centres
- Technical knowledge of Menorcan wildlife
- Maintenance skills (carpentry, gardening, DIY, etc.)
- Proficiency in other languages (especially Spanish and English)
- Experience in environmental education or youth activities
Responsibilities
The main duties include:
- Feeding, initial care, rehabilitation, and management of admitted animals.
- Maintenance of facilities (cages, equipment).
- Administrative tasks and database management.
- Support for environmental education and awareness-raising activities.
- Participation in wildlife release and marking events.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for a motivated, adaptable person with a strong passion for nature conservation. Candidates should possess good physical fitness for demanding tasks and excellent communication skills for interacting with various audiences.
