You are invited to attend the occasion for the public recognition of Jaume Pons as the recipient of the Pere Prats Prize for the Environment. It will be this Saturday 19 November at 19.00 hours at the Molí del Rei (Camí des Castell, 53, de Maó). It is an opportunity to thank him for so many years of his dedication as a professional vet voluntarily caring for the animals that enter the Recuperation Centre for Wild Animals of Menorca.
The jury for the prize considered that Juame Pons deserved this distinction for his commitment and his altruistic dedication to the work he carries out in the Centre for Wild Animals, beginning thirty years ago, and, above all for his discrete and humble personality, without prominence, far from media spotlight but doing his work with professionalism. Juame’s lifelong commitment to wild animals is the soul of one of GOB’s most cherished projects on the island. The Centre has received more than 25,000 animals. Without him this would not have been possible.
The occasion for presenting the prize is open to the public, this Saturday at 19.00 in the auditorium of the headquarters of GOB in Maó, Camí des Castell, 53. At the end there will be a tasting of products from the farms signed up to the GOB Land Stewardship Scheme.
