Sunday 25 September: Excursion on foot to Son Mercer de Baix

The Consell Insular and GOB have organised an excursion on foot for Sunday 25 September. It will visit the settlement of Son Mercer de Baix with its domestic (naviform) structures, where there are different habitation chambers special to the area called Cova des Moro.

Places on the walk are limited, so for this we will close the list as soon as it has the maximum number of people. You can make a reservation here.

The walk will pass along country roads with vistas along the ravine. We will have explanations from an archaeologist. The walk is of medium-low difficulty. It will return to the place of departure. You will see the times and meeting place when you make the reservation.

This is a good opportunity to say that, some days before, there will be a talk linked to the excursion. Under the title “Work in the countryside, in prehistory and today”, the archaeologist, Antoni Ferrer and the farmer, Antoni Moll, will give a talk in which they will make comparisons between work in the talayotic world and that of today. It is not necessary to make a reservation for this talk and entrance will be free. It will be on Thursday 22 September at 8 pm, in the “Cas Vesins” of Ferreries.

The cycle “Som Talaiòtics? Viure a Menorca abans i ara” (Are we Talaiotic? Life then and now) is a programme organised in conjunction with the Department of Culture of the Consell Insular and with GOB.

Many thanks for your interest.
