Sunday 5 June is The Day of the Environment and it will be a day of open doors to the Recuperation Centre of Wild Animals. This is an opportunity to see the work which is done for the animals that live there. Visits can be made between 9.30 to 14.00 hours.

The Recuperation Centre is dedicated to helping wild animals which have been in accidents or in danger and in parallel it gives education on environmental understanding. Visitors can see animals and birds close up such as birds of prey, vultures, and other wild animals of Minorca, and find out the causes of their accidents.

At present we are very much preoccupied with the deaths from electrocution of birds on pylons lacking insulation. For this, we have started a campaign to ask ENDESA to put insulation on the pylons. You can actively help by adding your name making a click here.

The Open Doors Day has been organized thanks to the cooperation of Lithica and the Ajuntament de Ciutadella. Entry is via the Lithica Quarry entrance, Pedreres de s´Hostal, (Camí Vell, KM1, Ciutadella).
