Virgin beaches walk

Excursion to Virgin Beaches, Sunday 8 October

The excursion which was being prepared for this coming Sunday filled very rapidly for the return by boat. Now there is the option to return by bus for those who do not have a place on the boat.

We are receiving many requests from people who would like to join the party for this excursion commemorating the 40 years of GOB. It will go to Macarella and the Cala en Turqueta. This coastline was seriously threatened with urbanization during many years and because of popular outcry was saved and now it is symbolic of Menorca and where everyone wants to visit.

On Sunday 8, the walk will be along these beautiful places and there will be an explanation of the threats and the campaigns which took place.

For people who would like to go on the walk, but cannot now have a place on it for the return, there will be a bus (5 euros). Though not as attractive as the excursion with the boat, nevertheless it allows participation in the walk and a return to the start with comfort.

So, for everyone who wants to participate, the start will be at Cala Galdana, near the river mouth, at 9.30. We will start the walk at 10 am. On arriving at Turqueta there will be a talk. Those that have a place on the boat (because they were able to sign up during the first days of registration) will board it. The rest, can take the return bus which will leave at about 12 noon.

The itinerary does not have much difficulty and will be basically along the Cami de Cavalls. The walk will not be much more than 3 kms and at a walking pace.

We recommend sharing a car with friends.
