On Sunday 6 October, there is a new meeting of the talayotic excursions that are organized jointly by the Department of Culture of the Consell Insular and GOB. These are to combine discovering the island countryside with scientific information on the talayotic world.
On this occasion, we will visit Calescoves, a beautiful cove full of the history of the first peoples on the island. Caves, cave art, water activity and other features of the time will be explained.
This is an excursion of great landscape beauty. Booking is not required. People should go directly to the Binixica meeting point for 9.30 am, just at the entrance of the Binicalaf path (look at the plan below). We will set off at 10 am. It will be of medium/low difficulty (a short haul with some steps). The visit to the site will be with an archaeologist as guide. There will be a return bus (3 euros) for the expected finish of 13.30.
