GOB Menorca is asking all its members and friends to propose people or groups suitable for receiving the Pere Prats Prize for the Environment which is awarded annually.

As explained in the regulations, the annual prize given by the Menorca Section of the Balearic Group of Ornithology and the Defence of Nature (GOB), the Pere Prats Prize for the Environment, has as its objective the public acknowledgement of those persons, or groups, who by their lives and actions have over a prolonged period of time supported or developed activities which significantly promote the environmental, social and cultural values of Menorca, and in particular those who consider the equilibrium between human activities and the conservation of nature.

It ought to be pointed out that the prize is not designed to recognize particular events but life long careers or long lasting projects that have had an impact on improving the relationship between our human activities and the environment of Menorca.

Candidate proposals should be sent by email to info@gobmenorca.com or in writing to the local GOB offices in Mahón or Ciutadella. They should be accompanied by a brief explanation of the candidate´s suitability for the prize and should be presented before 14.00 hours on 14 October 2016.

Finally, according to the requirements of the regulations, there will be the Board of Directors and a jury chosen specifically for its environmental awareness who will choose the winning candidate from all those put forward.
