GOB has made a formal complaint to SEPRONA (Guardia Civil Police) and the Environmental Agencies of a new case of a falcon wounded by a shotgun and which has recently been taken into the Wild Life Recuperation Centre. It is the fourth one in the last few years brought in for this reason. This year it is the second case of a protected species coming as a result of impacted pellets. Each year dead wild birds are found at the base of some electric pylons. In particular, their design means that certain important birds are electrocuted when they perch on them. For the last twenty years, the Gesa-Endesa-Enel Company has known of the problem as well as the inexpensive way to solve it either by insulating the cables or by making a small change in the design of pylons. Another red kite has been found dead at the bottom of the same electricity pylon on the Camí d´en Kane as the two for which GOB made an official complaint earlier in the year. In view of the lack of an effective answer, GOB will increase the pressure on those in charge of finding a solution to this problem.
