On Sunday 24 April, GOB is organizing a concert with the Swing Crusaders group and a demonstration of Lindy Hop Dancing at 12 noon in the Plaza Real of Mahon. It is to celebrate 5 years of the AgroMaó market which promotes products from ecologically sustainable farms that maintain the countryside and biodiversity of Menorca and are a part of the Agricultural Land Stewardship Scheme. On Sunday 13 March coinciding with the Day of Indigenous Species, some twenty volunteers helped remove exotic succulents at Es Capell de Ferro farm. These plants were grown for many years near houses for decorative purposes and, with time, they have spread invading other species and the vegetation of the area.

The usual perception of farmers is of strong males working in all weathers with long hours. Maria Tuduri Sintes is the only woman who farms her own farm in Menorca. Of course, there are wives of farmers who help on their farms, but Maria rents 95 hectares which she farms alone using ecologically sustainable methods.
